🇺🇸Madison Food Diary First Time Trying Cheese Fondue at Melting Pot
It was my first time trying cheese fondue, and it felt so novel and fun~ We ordered a duo(between the $119 and $125 options), and we went with the $119 package. It included a cheese fondue, salad, a clear broth hot pot, and a chocolate fondue! There were many types of cheese fondue to choose from—we went with the classic Wisconsin Cheddar 🫕. The fondue came with mushrooms, broccoli, and little bread pieces (mostly veggie dippers). You could pick other combos, but we stuck with the default. The cheese was super rich and satisfying—we absolutely indulged! 🧀 What surprised me the most, though, was the clear broth hot pot that came after the cheese course. How did they make a broth that looks like clear water but tastes so deeply flavorful?? 🤔 (It’s also totally different from Chinese hot pot.) Everything cooked in it was delicious 😭 You get to choose two sets of proteins—beef, chicken, fish, you name it. And finally… the chocolate fondue! As soon as we saw "Yin Yang" on the menu, we knew we had to order it. It’s melted white and dark chocolate swirled into a yin-yang symbol—so playful and cute 😁 It came with lots of classic sweet dippers like brownies, marshmallows, and fruit. 📍 The Melting Pot This place is right next to the famous pho spot, Saigon Noodles. We stopped by after playing arcade games nearby—there are also tons of shopping spots around, so it’s perfect for a meal after some retail therapy! 🛍️ #100ChallengesEatery #MadisonEats #MadisonWI #UWMadison #UniversityOfWisconsin #MadisonFood #FondueFun 🧀🫕🍫
