🇺🇸Washington DC | Presidential Restaurants Ice Cream Spots (Part 2)
Continuing from Part 1—here are more presidential favorites! 🫵🍦 📍 Martin’s Tavern - ~$75 per person A Georgetown landmark! 🏛️ You’ll often see people enjoying a drink here—such a vibe~ Truman and his family dined at Booth 6 🪑; his daughter even mentioned the tavern in her mystery novel. JFK used to read the paper and eat here (Booth 1) and even drafted part of his inaugural speech here. On June 24, 1953, he proposed in Booth 3 🥺💍 (now marked as “The Proposal Booth”). Bill Clinton also loved this place—great food and atmosphere on a budget! The interior is cozy and historic—perfect during the holidays 🎄. Book ahead and ask to sit inside! Food is classic American—decent but not mind-blowing 🍔. Worth it for the history and drinks, not so much for a serious food adventure. 📍 Founding Farmers DC - ~$50 per person Trump’s fave… and mine too! 😍 Located near the World Bank—super popular, so reserve early! Great value 🧑🌾! I’ve been 5 times and always recommend it. Farm-to-table American comfort food 🌽. Must-tries: warm cornbread (so comforting!), beignets (perfect with jam 🍯), chicken pot pie, and Yankee pot roast. Garlic black pepper wings are tasty but salty. Skip the chicken & waffles and carrot cake if you’re not into sweet brunch vibes. Love their crab cakes and brunch plates—highly recommend! 📍 Thomas Sweet - ~$9 per person An ice cream shop that always has a line! 🍦 Photos of Obama and Biden cover the walls—guess Georgetown’s the place to be 😉. The ice cream isn’t life-changing, but enjoying a cone on a spring evening 🌸 with friends among blooming flowers? Pure happiness! #DCfood #PresidentialEats #GeorgetownEats #FoundingFarmers #MartinsTavern #ThomasSweet #DCguide
