πΊπΈ Chicago Two Michelin Stars It's been a long time since I encountered a Michelin-starred meal that left me still hungry... My first Michelin experience in Chicago, and after finishing, it just made me feel like Chicago is done for... π Melong π Avocado, sesame, LEMON BALM. A dish as beautiful as a crystal box, but surprisingly, it contained marinated tomatoes inside. The mashed potato garnish added richness to the whole dish. The thin "crystal shell" looked like gelatin at first glance, but turned out to be crispy sugar sheets when eaten. Tomato π Yuzu, brioche, BASIL The chef's preference for yuzu was evident from these two appetizers, though the yuzu mainly added fragrance to the dishes. Coconut π₯₯ Markut, fresno, CILANTRO. The fried rice beside the coconut soup - scraping it all from the cup walls into the soup was so satisfying for my OCD π. The first sip had great balance between coconut flavor and the soup. But subsequent sips became too sour, overwhelming the coconut taste. Fennel π Mandarin, mustard, CITRUS LACE. The salmon was a bit overcooked and the seasoning was just ordinary. Daikon π° Hazelnut, enoki, WATERCRESS. The hazelnut custard had a very unique flavor but the texture was too dense. Such cute tableware - little figures, one for soup and one for dishes. Broccoli Rice, soy TARRAGON . Strawberry Salsify, molasses, . MINT Banana Mango, rum, DIANTHUS . Tiny Sweets Truffle, chocolate. The truffle crisp tart was the only truly delicious item.
