Took a weekend trip to Chicago and packed in all the must-see spots + local gems! Hereโs your optimized one-day itinerary ๐ ๐ฅฏ The Bean / Starbucks Reserve / Lake Michigan โ All Covered! 1๏ธโฃ First Stop: Millennium Park โThe Beanโ (7:30-9:00 AM) ๐ 201 E Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60602 โจ Come EARLY! By 7:30 AM, it was almost empty โ perfect for photos without crowds. Gets packed later! โ ๏ธ Keep your bag in front โ better safe than sorry around tourists. ๐ฆ The reflective Crown Fountains are right next to the Bean. Get low, place your camera near the water โ killer reflection shots especially with morning light! 2๏ธโฃ North Walk: Architecture + Food + Fun (9:30 AM-3:00 PM) ๐ถ Walk north from the park โ youโll pass: โข Trump Tower โ look up! The architecture is impressive. โข Chicago Riverwalk โ super chill with a nice breeze โ๏ธ โข Starbucks Reserve โ perfect break! We tried the seasonal cold brew + a mushroom flatbread ๐๐คค (Skip the deep-dish pizza โ $30 and overrated. Starbucks pizza >>) ๐ Weird & Fun Detour: Hamburger University (McDonaldโs Global Training Campus) ๐ 1040 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60607 ๐ Looks like a mini campus โ free exhibits & a McDonaldโs. Fun if youโre into fast-food culture! ๐ฆ Purple taro ice cream? AVOID. ๐ซ Tastes like artificial perfume. Strawberry forever! 3๏ธโฃ Evening: Park Chill + Lake Michigan Sunset (5:00-7:30 PM) ๐ต There was a concert at Millennium Park (too crowded for us), so we escaped to a quieter nearby park โ so relaxing on the grass! ๐ Before sunset, head to Lake Michigan: โข If you have architecture cruise or observation deck tickets โ go for epic elevated views! โข No ticket? No problem! Grab a bench by the lake โ watch the sky turn gold and pink. Perfect ending.
