Chicago Art Museum Guide šŸ–¼ļø Immerse Yourself in Art!

🄰 So lucky that Chicago has such a beautiful art museum! It’s the second-largest museum in the U.S., right after the Metropolitan Museum of Art. With our University of Chicago student cards, we got in for free šŸŽ«! There are several floors, and we spent 3ļøāƒ£ hours there but still didn’t finish exploring. We wanted to stop and admire every painting, and there are even explanations next to each piece. You can also download the app in advance for audio guides. šŸŽØ Let’s break down the floors: - **First Floor**: The Chinese gallery has many amazing pieces. The Japanese painting hall mostly features Ukiyo-e and Chagall’s ā€œAmerica Window.ā€ - **Second Floor**: Impressionist masterpieces are a must-see šŸ‘. There are Monet’s water lilies 🪷, haystack series, and beach scenes, as well as Van Gogh’s self-portrait and ā€œThe Bedroom in Arles.ā€ - **Third Floor**: Modern art that’s super trendy and creative! There are many Picasso works and Rousseau’s ā€œThe Waterfall.ā€ šŸ• **Opening Hours**: Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (don’t miss out!). Thursday: 11am-8pm; Friday to Monday: 11am-5pm. šŸ“· **Pro Tip for Photos**: Wear solid colors—they look great! Black, white, and light colors are all good choices. The stained glass mural on the second floor is stunning (I’m not sure if that’s the right term, but it’s really beautiful!). It’s perfect for group photos and creates a great atmosphere. Taking photos with the staircase is also a good idea, or you can just sit quietly on a bench. #ArtInstituteOfChicago #ChicagoContemporaryArt #Chicago #ChicagoLife #ChicagoMuseum #ThingsToDoInChicago #USAMuseums #USATravel
