100 Restaurant Challenge — Chinese Food Edition 🥢🍜
Here are four LA Chinese spots we visit again and again — each is a hidden gem and absolutely delicious 🌶️ Sichuan — Chili House As someone who loves Sichuan food and spice, this place has my heart! Even though it’s a bit far, I still crave it after every visit. My Top 3: Stir-Fried Beef with Peppers Home-Style Tofu Thunder Pepper & Century Egg The Home-Style Tofu is a must-try — seriously impressive, especially with rice soaked in the sauce! The beef dish has a Hunan-style kick. Photo 2 shows their signature bullfrog — also fantastic! Twice-Cooked Pork is highly recommended too. Hard to go wrong here, but if you’re not a spice lover, keep some vinegar or drinks handy 🌶️ 📍 Address: 18888 Labin Ct C111, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 🍜 Zi Wei Xiao Mian This spot serves Chongqing/Sichuan-style noodles. My go-to orders: Pea & Minced Pork Noodles Wave-Cut Potato Strips Steamed Egg If you’re craving authentic Chongqing noodles — this is it! Same plaza has Chi Cha San Chen for boba 🧋 📍 Address: 301 W Valley Blvd #114-115, San Gabriel, CA 91776 🍚 Braised Pork Rice — Lu Yi Xian A crowd-pleaser for sure! My #1: Spicy Chopped Pork Knuckle Rice — if you don’t like heat, you can pick out the chili. Their braised beef is also really tasty. 📍 Address: 2 E Valley Blvd #1E, Alhambra, CA 91801 🥘 Noodles & Rice Noodles — Fan Ai Mian We come here all the time — the craving hits often! I always get the two-style combo: rice noodles + hand-sliced noodles. The hand-sliced noodles soak up the broth perfectly! Options: spicy, three-delicacy, tomato, and more. Also always order: chicken skeleton + Wang Zhong Wang sausage. If you haven’t tried their chicken skeleton — you’re missing out! 📍 Address: 227 W Valley Blvd #118A, San Gabriel, CA 91776 That’s it for this round — feel free to share your own recommendations! I’m always up for exploring more 🥡✨ #FoodAdventure #LAEats #LAChineseFood #GoToSpots #FoodieGuide
