A 3-day City Walk in Lyon, France
🚇 Transportation: Highly recommend purchasing the Lyon City Card. It not only covers public transportation within the city but also includes passes for museums and many attractions. Visiting just a few museums will make it worth the price. ‼️ The key benefit is that it allows free booking of a one-hour guided tour of Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon) and a boat trip on the Saône River. Simply go to the tourist center at Place Bellecour in advance to make reservations. 🕍 One-day tour of the Old Town: During the day, you can wander around the Old Town to see historical buildings or join the guided tour. The guide will take you through the secret passageways called Traboule, passing through residential buildings and sharing the history of the Old Town. After the tour, you can visit the Puppet Museum, the Miniature Film Museum, the Little Prince souvenir shop, try the ice cream with over 90 flavors at Terre adélice, or enjoy the Lyon-specific almond candy bread at Pâtisserie Chocolaterie Pralus. In the afternoon, take the small cable car 🚠 from Vieux Lyon station to Fourvière Hill to see the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière and the Ancient Roman Theatre.😜😜 💓The outside of the basilica offers a panoramic view of Lyon, but it’s more recommended to visit the nearby Jardin des Curiosités (Garden of Curiosities). It’s not crowded and very quiet, where you can stay and daydream until evening. 🖼️ One-day tour of the Presqu'île (Lyon Peninsula):🐲 Walk along the left bank of the Saône River to see the murals of the City Library and the Mural of the Lyonnais. 👀 After viewing Le Mur des Canuts (the Canut Mural), you can walk all the way to Croix-Rousse Hill for scenery, with some other murals along the way. The view from Croix-Rousse Hill is also particularly beautiful. 😊😊 🌳Nearby, there’s a distinctive historical building called Cour des Voraces, which feels very similar to Bai Xiang Ju in Chongqing. In the afternoon, relax with a Boat trip 🛥️. While enjoying the blend of ancient and modern scenery along the Saône River, you can listen to the guide introduce Lyon’s history.🏙️🏙️ Just note that the sun is very strong in summer, so remember to take sun protection measures.😍😍 🦒 New Town: Due to time constraints, I only visited Parc de la Tête d'Or, but it’s extremely large, with an artificial lake, a zoo, and a botanical garden. It’s a family-friendly attraction. 🎫 🎄🎄If you’re staying nearby, it’s recommended to get up early to exercise there – many locals jog 🏃, and doing aerobics by the river in the woods is very pleasant. 🍽️ Food: Any restaurant with the "Bouchon lyonnais" sign serves local dishes. 🌟🌟 However, keep in mind the strong-flavored offal sausage called Andouillette. With mustard, it tastes even more like . If you’re not into adventure, it’s really not recommended to try it.👀👀 #FranceTravel #Lyon #CityWalk #LyonGuide #TravelGuide #LyonLife #CulturalAttractionsSharing
