Clearing out my phone gallery and found a bunch of food photos from around town! π₯‘πΈ While Gainesville is a college town and not exactly a tourist hotspot, itβs still home to some real gemsβespecially when friends and family come to visit. Hereβs my roundup of affordable and tasty spots around the village β hope it helps! π π Red Rice Kitchen β A fantastic Southeast Asian spot! Their pho and Taiwanese-style noodles are delicious. I also love their clay pot chicken with rice π²β€οΈ. π Sushi Matsuri β My favorite Japanese restaurant in town β even better than Hana and Hibachi, in my opinion! The sashimi is super fresh π£, and their curry pork cutlet is huge and satisfying π. π Mi ApΓ‘ Latin CafΓ© β A popular local chain serving Cuban sandwiches, coffee, pastries, and even guava juice! π₯ͺβοΈ A hit with the locals. π Kekeβs Breakfast β A beloved brunch chain with both sweet and savory options. You can order pancakes, French toast, or build your own combo β perfect for mixing flavors! π₯π³ π Bolay β A healthy fast-casual spot where you can pick your proteins, veggies, and base (rice, grains, or noodles). Simple, fresh, and surprisingly satisfying! π₯¬π π Beque Holic β All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ! π₯©π₯ Some marinated meats burn easily (grill with care π ), but the ingredients are fresh and thereβs a great variety β including appetizers! π Indian Cuisine β Yes, thatβs literally its name π. Their lunch buffet is awesome! Took a birder friend whoβd never had real Indian food before, and he loved it. Canβt wait to bring my parents here too! ππ¨π©π§ π Original American Kitchen (The OAK) β A cozy downtown spot with solid burgers π, though the roasted chicken was a bit bland. Great atmosphere with sports TV β we went on Super Bowl night! ππΊ π Crane Ramen β A popular downtown ramen shop with limited seating π. Broth is flavorful, portions come in two sizes (no waste!), and the sides are unique and tasty. Thatβs all for this round!
