A Cozy French Family Bistro in West Hollywood 🥖
Took advantage of Dine LA to explore more spots in the city. Couldn’t decide where to go, so I followed a friend’s lead to this homestyle French restaurant. 🍄 Mushroom Tourte Rich cream filling in flaky puff pastry—aromatic and comforting, though the crust was softer than expected. 🐌 Escargot A French must-order, but here it was quite mild. The green herb sauce looked vibrant but was subtle in flavor. The snails were tender (not bouncy), served over plain roasted potatoes. 🦴 Roasted Bone Marrow Tangy and sweet, scooped onto bread yourself—less greasy than versions like Bestia’s. 🍝 Grass-Fed Beef Bourguignon Beef was fall-apart tender, but the seasoning didn’t penetrate deeply. Wide pasta was al dente (on the firmer side). 🐟 Scottish Salmon with Crispy Calamari Simple pan-seared salmon with fried calamari rings. The fish retained its natural flavor (avoid if sensitive to fishiness). Calamari coating was a bit thick. 🦆 Organic Mary’s Farm Duck Leg Confit Sweet-and-sour glazed duck leg. Again, sauce stayed on the surface—meat inside was plain. 🍮 Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brûlée Crisp caramelized top over smooth, creamy custard—a comforting finish. 🍰 Meyer Lemon Pie Tart, sweet, with delicate cream and pistachio crumbs—tastes like a Miami dessert! 🍨 French Chocolate Mousse Silky, rich, deeply chocolatey—a bit heavy after a few bites. Overall: Not mind-blowing, but with pleasant surprises. Meats were good quality, though seasoning often stayed on the surface. What stood out was the heartfelt touch—the chef came out after the meal to greet each table. 📍 A Food Affair 1515 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035 #LosAngeles #StudyInUSA #LALife #LAEats#LAFood #HiddenGem #DateNightSpot #FrenchCuisine
