π΄ A Day in Long Beach, Los Angeles County
On the morning of May 10, 2024 (Pacific Time), we set out from Motel 6 near LAX and headed to Long Beach City in Los Angeles County. ππ¨ By 9:48 AM, we parked for free near a beautiful lagoon ποΈ and began our walk. Half an hour later, we passed a second lagoon where people were swimming and renting paddleboards πβοΈ. We paused for a while before continuing to the beach. Long Beach is much longer and wider than Santa Monica Beach (where we were yesterday) β no wonder itβs called Long Beach! ποΈ Thereβs even a dog beach π where many people bring their pups to play and swim in the Pacific. The residential streets in Long Beach are narrow but clean, with beautiful houses in various styles π‘, giving off a warm and peaceful vibe. Everyone we met was incredibly polite and friendly. On our way back from the beach, an elderly woman walking her dog greeted us with a βHello!β πΆ I said, βYour dog is so cute!β She smiled and said, βThank you!β A bit further, three seniors were sitting in front of their house drinking tea β. One lady waved and said βHello!β I asked, βIs this your house? Itβs beautiful!β She replied, βThank you! It is indeed beautiful. I like it very much too.β π At 11:35 AM, we drove to a nearby restaurant for lunch. It was packed β no empty tables β so we sat at the bar π½οΈ. I ordered a house-made veggie sandwich π₯π π₯ with avocado, tomato, carrot, and more, plus a side of potato salad. It was delicious! π After lunch at 1:00 PM, we drove along Ocean Boulevard toward the Getty Center. On the way, we passed the Aquarium of the Pacific π , the Queen Mary ship π’, the Long Beach Pier, and lots of skyscrapers π. #LongBeach #LosAngeles #CaliforniaTravel #BeachDay #DogBeach #FriendlyPeople #TravelDiary #USATrip
