🌴 A Day in Long Beach, Los Angeles County

On the morning of May 10, 2024 (Pacific Time), we set out from Motel 6 near LAX and headed to Long Beach City in Los Angeles County. 🚗💨 By 9:48 AM, we parked for free near a beautiful lagoon 🏞️ and began our walk. Half an hour later, we passed a second lagoon where people were swimming and renting paddleboards 🏄♂️. We paused for a while before continuing to the beach. Long Beach is much longer and wider than Santa Monica Beach (where we were yesterday) – no wonder it’s called Long Beach! 🏖️ There’s even a dog beach 🐕 where many people bring their pups to play and swim in the Pacific. The residential streets in Long Beach are narrow but clean, with beautiful houses in various styles 🏡, giving off a warm and peaceful vibe. Everyone we met was incredibly polite and friendly. On our way back from the beach, an elderly woman walking her dog greeted us with a “Hello!” 🐶 I said, “Your dog is so cute!” She smiled and said, “Thank you!” A bit further, three seniors were sitting in front of their house drinking tea ☕. One lady waved and said “Hello!” I asked, “Is this your house? It’s beautiful!” She replied, “Thank you! It is indeed beautiful. I like it very much too.” 💖 At 11:35 AM, we drove to a nearby restaurant for lunch. It was packed – no empty tables – so we sat at the bar 🍽️. I ordered a house-made veggie sandwich 🥑🍅🥕 with avocado, tomato, carrot, and more, plus a side of potato salad. It was delicious! 😋 After lunch at 1:00 PM, we drove along Ocean Boulevard toward the Getty Center.
