A Day Trip to Portland 🚗🌞

At around 8:30 AM, we set off from downtown Seattle, and by noon, we’d arrived in Portland—ready to dive into a day of exploring 🌆. Our first stop for lunch was Killer Burger, which was just off the highway—perfect for refueling before kicking off our adventures. We ordered the peanut butter burger and two spicy chicken burgers; each one was piled high with juicy meat and rich sauce, and the fries were freshly fried, crispy, and absolutely delicious 🍔🍟.📍 510 SW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97204Here’s the highlight: right next to the restaurant, there’s a multi-story parking garage that only costs $5 for the entire weekend! It’s such a great deal for anyone looking to save on parking 🅿️❗️ Next up was Pioneer Courthouse Square (also known as Portland’s "living room"). We were lucky enough to stumble upon the Oregon Chinese Cultural Festival—there were two lively performances, and the whole square was buzzing with energy. It was a fun, unexpected treat to soak up some cultural vibes 🎊. Just a 2-3 minute walk from the square is Kinokuniya Bookstore, a must-visit for fans of cute merch and comics. This is where you can find Oregon x Sanrio collaboration keychains and plush toys, plus other popular IPs like Snoopy, Studio Ghibli characters, and Miffy. The store also has a huge selection of manga, and the cozy atmosphere makes it easy to lose track of time—definitely worth a stop 🧸📚.📍 829 SW 9th Ave., Portland, OR 97205, United States No trip to Portland is complete without a visit to Powell’s Books—the world’s largest independent bookstore. From the outside, it looks pretty understated, but step inside and you’ll be amazed by its massive space and endless variety of books. Whether you’re into fiction, nonfiction, or niche topics, there’s something here for everyone, and you could easily spend hours browsing 📖. After exploring the bookstore, we headed to Less and More, a popular local coffee shop. Our navigation took us to their second location (which has a few seats), but to our disappointment, none of the drinks recommended on Xiaohongshu were available—they said those items are only served at the first store. Still, we decided to try something anyway and ordered a hojicha latte; it had a unique flavor we’d never tasted before, and it was pretty good ☕. Not wanting to miss out, we walked 4-5 minutes to the first Less and More location, which is a small roadside stand with no seating. We ordered the ube latte (another popular pick from online reviews), but honestly? It tasted like melted ube ice cream—sweet, but not exactly what we were expecting 😅.📍 1003 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR 97204, United States We also checked out Mill Ends Park—dubbed the "world’s smallest park." It’s tiny and pretty whimsical, which made for a fun photo op. Right next to it is a larger park, and to our surprise, we could see snow-capped mountains in the distance from there—such a lovely backdrop 🌱⛰️. To wrap up the day, we took the Portland Aerial Tram from the Lower Terminal. At $8.75 per person for a round trip, it’s a great way to see the city from above. The views were fantastic—we got to take in both the Portland skyline and the surrounding mountain scenery all at once 🚠.📍 3303 SW Bond Ave #PortlandTravel #SeattleDayTrips #OneDayTripRecommendations #PowellsBooks #PortlandCheckIn #AWanderingDay
