A Flavorful Feast in San Juan

🥣Barrachina: While exploring Old San Juan until our legs were sore, we followed the crowd to this cozy spot filled with the aroma of grilled plantains. 🍺Although we waited in line for half an hour to try the legendary piña colada, watching the bartender crack fresh coconuts and squeeze pineapples made the wait anything but boring. 🍮The signature piña colada was indeed rich and creamy, with the perfect balance of coconut milk and pineapple, garnished with a small orchid on the rim. 🍷 But the real showstopper was the mofongo—mashed plantains mixed with slow-braised shredded pork, drizzled with a fragrant coconut-infused curry sauce, and topped with crispy pork cracklings at the bottom. 🧀Though we missed out on trying the desserts, sipping our chilled drinks in front of a vibrantly painted wall while watching street performers was a simple joy of travel. We’d recommend visiting in the evening to avoid the midday heat and catch the sunset. #SanJuanEats #StreetFood #Barrachina
