A Hard-to-Get Chicago Steakhouse with Super Cute Dessert Illustrations

Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf was one of the first restaurants I had on my Chicago bucket list. To be honest, I was initially drawn in by their stunning plates! The vintage-patterned dishes, adorable lamps, and dim lighting are absolutely my style. 🌟 Making a reservation was supposed to be nearly impossible, and we were about to give up. But then my boyfriend decided to give them a call on a whim—and we actually got a table for the next evening at 6 p.m.! I was so excited I could have jumped up and down right there. 🎉 We started with oysters and salmon as appetizers, which were incredibly fresh. For the main course, we had thick-cut bacon and a Ribeye steak (the flavors were amazing, and while the portions weren't huge, they were very satisfying). 🍖 But the absolute highlight was the dessert! We ordered the Chocolate Cream Pie, which had a thick layer of cream on top. The chocolate was rich but not at all cloying—even my boyfriend, who usually avoids sweets, loved it! The best part? The dessert menu was illustrated in a hand-drawn style! I wanted to order everything just by looking at the cute illustrations. I definitely need to try more of their desserts next time! 🍰 I'd say the average cost per person is around $150, and considering the ambiance and quality of the food, I think it's totally worth it. Overall, don't just rely on the website for reservations—give them a call, and you might just get lucky! 📞 #WhereToGoOnWeekends #OC #FrenchCuisine #HiddenGems #ChicagoFood #Chicago #ChicagoLife
