A Lucky Trip to Yellowknife 🍀💛 Aurora Viewing Guide 🔪

💛 Arrived at noon. Yellowknife's airport has the world's smallest baggage carousel—it's so tiny, it's cute . After checking into the hotel, I took a quick stroll around Yellowknife.🥑 🍛In the evening, I chose what's probably the best Chinese restaurant in town, 【Cai’s Kitchen】. Of course, it can't compare to Toronto's, but in this middle-of-nowhere town, it's really good. 💛 In the evening, I walked in the park near the downtown city hall. Watched the sunset by the lake as the sun dipped west, and even spotted some foxes wandering around 🦊 💛 Set off to chase the lights at 10:30 PM. 🌟 The night sky was filled with stars, and the auroras erupted spectacularly—what luck! 🍀 Caught them on the first night 💚💜 The guide found different spots and angles to help take photos.🌹 My phone could capture the auroras too, but it wasn't great for taking pictures of people. 💛 The next day, went on a City Tour. Followed the guide lady by car from the new town to the old town's vantage point, overlooking Great Slave Lake—the deepest in North America—and the laid-back Yellowknife 🍎 On the way back, we stopped at a gift shop in a charming little house. 🥠 Across the street is the famous restaurant 【Bullock's Bistro】, known for fish and chips. 🐟 🌴They say the fish is super fresh, but unfortunately, it's closed on Sundays—my only regret this trip. 🍧 🌰Walked back to the lakeside museum in the city center; if you time it right, it's worth a visit. 🌲 🌿Set off again to chase the lights at 11:00 PM, but the weather was bad, as expected—saw nothing. But I was already satisfied.🐶 💛 Headed to the airport at noon on the third day. 🍞My usual must-eat before leaving a city? Pho. I picked 【Taste of Saigon】, which had good reviews.🌻 The flavor was great—you know, the kind with properly raw beef.🥩 ⚠️ Summary: 🍀 Three key factors for auroras: 🍓1. Good weather with no clouds—if it's going to rain the next day, you definitely won't see them the night before. 🎋 🦢2. No light pollution—if the sky looks bright white, forget it. 3. High aurora index.🐵 🥔Though once you're there, checking it doesn't really help.🍢 🍀 Recommend staying 3 nights. Avoid Sundays—many places are closed.🍦 🍀 Visiting Yellowknife in early autumn isn't cold at all.🍶 #Yellowknife #Aurora #GreatNorthwest #YellowknifeTravelGuide #ChasingtheLights #WatchingtheAurora
