Yellowknife during holidays.

🀝The aurora borealis erupted for nearly two hours today, but I only saw auroras with a hint of pink, no red ones. 🀲 I wish I can see redπŸ’‹ auroras next time. Today, in Yellowknife city, the auroras were clearly visible to the naked eye, bright green. πŸ‘£ It was so cold❄️❄️ that I caught a cold. I'm ready to go home.🏠🏠 Don't come to Yellowknife during holidays. Everything is closed. Almost all restaurants are closed except for fast-food🍚🍜 ones . Yellowknife is divided into downtown and old πŸŽ…town. Most of the check-in photo spots, the fish and chip shops, and Great Slave LakeπŸ’§πŸ’§ are in old town. Paid activities are also near Great Slave Lake, such as snowmobiling, dog🐢🐢🐢 sledding, and some others. On the ice lake, you can see locals taking their dogs 🐢out to play ball and walk around. Yellowknife is very small; it only takes more than ten minutes to drive around the city.β›… You can get free souvenirs in Yellowknife (souvenirs are no longer available at city hall; the location has changed. β˜ͺ️ The souvenirs are in the last picture, which is quite meaningful).πŸŒ₯️ Address: Lower Level of the Centre Square Mall, 5014-50th Street. Time: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.🏝️🏝️ If you come to Yellowknife by car, first come to this visitor center to get a parking card. Parking in the entire Yellowknife is free!!! 🌈 Remember to bring your vehicle information and personal information to register at the visitor center.πŸ›οΈπŸ›οΈ The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Center introduces Indigenous culture, clothing from the war period, and some animal specimens. β›„β›„ It's free and can be visited in more than ten minutes. πŸ’• The staff are very nice, and there's a voluntary donation.πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ Bullock's Bistro has fried fish of many kinds. I think the great slave cod is the best, but it's not very delicious.🍞🍟 It's especially greasy, and I almost felt sick after eating it. One portion is enough for 2-3 people, as the portion is quite large for those with small appetites. πŸ‘‚ It costs 30-40 per portion, with prices varying depending on the type of fish. 🐟🐟 There are three cooking methods, and frying is the most delicious. 🌻🌻 It's better to save money for other foods... Just go and queue; there are many people, but you can get a table. No reservation is needed.πŸ¦„ If you drive or rent a car, you must prepare a tow rope, a snow shovel, and a wooden board. πŸ˜›πŸ˜› The car can easily get stuck in the snow. 🌫️🌫️ Luckily, a kind guy walking his dog towed us out; otherwise, we would have frozen to death in the snow.❄️ Moreover, Yellowknife is a place where you regret going and also regret not going. 🌧️ There's almost nothing but the aurora, with no other special features.πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ It's extremely cold; even an ordinary Canada Goose isn't very useful, and I still shivered with cold 🍐🎼 πŸ’–A warm reminder: when walking on the ice lake, be sure to walk on the places that have been firmly trodden by others! Don't try to make your own path. If the ice isn't frozen hard enough, you'll step into the water like me.☺️☺️ Fortunately, I got out quickly; otherwise, it would have been dangerous 🌈 Be sure to bring thermal underwear, thermal pants, snow boots, as well as thick hats, gloves, scarves, and earmuffs. πŸ’‹πŸ’‹ The cold in Yellowknife in winter will punish every "southern potato" who underestimates it.πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ #Yellowknife #Aurora #Lighthouse #Nightview
