A Museum 99% of People Will Miss, Located in an Abandoned Power Plant
The Centrale Montemartini, part of the Rome Municipal Museums, was once a hydroelectric power station. Now it houses a large collection of sculptures and mosaics from the ancient Roman period. Some of the artifacts were unearthed during the construction of Termini Station, while others come from the Esquilino district. The combination of industrial power plant equipment and marble sculptures is simply stunning. ❗The key point is: almost no one comes here❗ Friends who have visited Rome should understand the value of the phrase "almost no one." Excluding the staff, I only encountered 5-6 visitors. Most of the time, it felt like I was exploring the museum all by myself. It was incredibly peaceful and enjoyable. Moreover, this museum is a photographer's dream! ✨Centrale Montemartini ✨Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9 AM - 7 PM ✨Closed on Mondays, May 1st, and Christmas Day. ✨Full admission: 11 euros ✨It's located near the Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura. It's about a 10-minute walk from the basilica. #RomeTravel #HiddenGems #Rome #IndustrialChic #Sculpture #ArtInTheDetails #ExploringAncientRome #MuseumVisits #MuseumAdventures
