A super detailed guide! Weekend two-day trip from Seattle
Our family of four planned a fun 2-day, 1-night getaway over the long weekend! The itinerary was packed and full of joy, though the sun was almost unbearable ☀️😅 🗓️ Day 1: Bellevue → Leavenworth (Roller Coaster + European Streets + Food Recs) 🌄 Morning: Headed straight to the roller coaster Left Bellevue at 9:00 AM. Hit some traffic, so it took an extra hour to reach Leavenworth Adventure Park (arrived at 12:30 PM). 📌 Pro tip: Book tickets in advance! We booked a two-ride pass for the little train, but the line was super long (about 40 mins), so we only ended up doing one ride — wasted $25 😢 You can grab simple bites on the third floor. 🍽️ Lunch: Ludwig's German Restaurant Ordered the two-person(combo), which had plenty of food, but note — it doesn’t include pork knuckle. The four-person combo does, so it’s a better deal for groups! Soft drinks are refillable — highly recommend! Finished lunch around 2:30 PM and strolled along Front Street. There was a weekend event going on, so it was lively and fun! ☀️ The sun was intense — don’t forget sunscreen! As a tourist town, weekends get crowded. Be prepared to wait in line for everything — we spent over 30 minutes just buying ice cream. The famous German hot dog spot Münchenhaus is also on this street. We didn’t try it, but reviews say their hot dogs and sauces are amazing! 📸 Highlights on Front Street: Colorful building photo ops Nutcracker Museum (free to view from outside / $5 to enter) Gingerbread Factory (free to visit) 🏨 Hotel Check-in & Rest We stayed at a place on Main Street. There are plenty of inns and hotels in town — just pick one based on your budget! It was so hot that we rested until 8:00 PM before heading out for dinner. 🍜 Dinner: Yodelin Broth Company and Beer Garden I’d seen great reviews about this noodle spot, so we gave it a try. I ordered the signature Yodelin Noodle + shrimp (wanted clams, but they were sold out — heard they’re delicious!). My husband got a rice bowl — and surprise — the rice bowl was way better! 🍚👌 He had the salmon one — loaded with veggies and amazing flavor. My noodles were just okay in comparison. The shrimp were tiny, but there were plenty of them. Verdict: Highly recommend the rice bowl! 💡 If you’re doing a day trip, you can totally head back after dinner. #Travel #Food #SeattleLife #SeattleWeekend #SeattleTwoDayTrip #SeattleDayTrip #Leavenworth
