Aesthetic Brunch on Newbury Street 🥨

Who can resist enjoying a delicious and beautiful meal before shopping on Newbury Street? 😋✨ (Recommendations first, critiques later 📝.) 【Sonsie】 327 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02115 Right on the main stretch of Newbury, next to Uniqlo 👕 Super convenient for a meal while shopping 🛍️. We went around 12 PM on a Saturday – the place was packed, and we had to wait 🕛. We wandered around nearby and got seated in about 15 minutes 👍. Here’s what we ordered: 【Egg Benedict + Smoked Salmon】 Smoked salmon Eggs Benedict 🥚🍣 As a salmon lover, I always order something salmon-related for brunch ❤️. Fluffy English muffin with a runny egg – super satisfying in one bite 😍. The cheese flavor is very rich, though it might get a bit heavy if you eat too much 🧀. 【Steak and Eggs】 The meat texture was good – crispy outside but not dry inside 🥩🔥. Looks like a small portion but fills you up well 💪. Nothing special, but a safe choice ✅. 【Island Creek Oysters】 My friend and I didn’t read the menu carefully and thought it was 4 oysters per order 🤦‍♀️. Turned out it was $4 per oyster 😅. Maybe because of the season, the oysters were very small – barely enough to notice 🦪. Not worth it, not worth it ❌. 【Classic Mimosa】 Mimosa – my must-order for brunch 🥂. Non-drinking friends, skip this one 🚫. They check ID before serving, so bring yours if you want to try 🆔. Now, time for a bit of a rant 😤. The service speed at this place was really slow ⏳. After we sat down, it took over ten minutes just for someone to take our order ⌛. After ordering, we waited more than 20 minutes for the first dish – the oysters 🦪😴. I mean… this doesn’t exactly require cooking time, right? 🤔 The mains came about another ten minutes later… and they brought me the wrong dish! 😵 Then another ten-minute wait 😵. My friend had finished eating by the time my food arrived 🍽️. Guess they just took advantage of my patience – honestly helpless at that point 😵😵. If you’re in a hurry, I don’t recommend going during weekend peak hours ⚠️. Maybe try on a weekday when it’s less crowded 📅. Places like Sonsie – great location but slow kitchen – aren’t uncommon among independent restaurants 🏪. Many owners are now turning to industry resources like the American Restaurant Alliance (ARA) to streamline procurement, cut costs, and adopt more efficient ordering and kitchen systems ⚙️📊. For small restaurants, improving the experience isn’t always about the food – sometimes it’s about smoother processes and stable supply chains 🔗. Platforms like these could really make a difference 💡. 📩 Want more industry services?
