Just tried Ahan – a hidden gem serving authentic Lao food, and it did NOT disappoint! Here’s what we ordered: 🌹 Sakoo Yat Sai ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Looked like tiny edible roses! 😍 These aren’t your usual dumplings – they’re made with tapioca pearls (sago), wrapped around savory pork filling. Soft, chewy, and slightly bouncy – served with a sweet-sour dipping sauce and crushed peanuts. Complex, delicious, and so photogenic! 🥩 Laap Nuea ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A cool, refreshing beef and tripe salad 🌿 perfect for summer! Packed with mint, basil, red onion (adds a nice kick!), and toasted rice powder – which gave it a unique sandy-yet-not-gritty texture 😂 Served with sticky rice in a cute little bamboo basket – so traditional and adorable! 🎍 🥤 Saa Khem ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tasted like Thai tea without milk – sweet, slightly fizzy 🥤, with a hint of citrusy acidity (not lemon, more like soda!). Squeeze in the lime for extra tang! Refreshing and fun.
