All Roads Lead to Rome — An In-Depth Tour

✅After exiting the church beside the Mouth of Truth, turn right to find the entrance to Palatine Hill. Further ahead are the Arch of Constantine and the Colosseum, but don’t head directly there yet. 🔷As you ascend Palatine Hill, you’ll immediately encounter the remnants of the Flavian Palace, the second dynasty of the Roman Empire’s Principate. 🔶 Even in ruins, the grandeur of the imperial residence is palpable. Continue forward to the 🌟 Mattei Loggia, where the ceiling frescoes are exceptionally detailed and well-preserved. 📌Next, you’ll reach the 🌟 Palatine Museum. Both the loggia and the museum require an upgraded ticket (€4 in addition to the combined Palatine Hill-Colosseum ticket) for entry. ⭐️The museum displays mineral specimens from various provinces of the Roman Empire, reflecting its vast resources. 🔆To the upper left, you’ll find the residence of Livia, the beloved wife of Augustus, the first emperor of Rome. 💟Her house faces the site of the Temple of Apollo, which Augustus vowed to build before defeating the son of Pompey. Today, only fragments remain. #Italy #Rome #DayTrip #Architecture
