All-You-Can-Eat Korean Sashimi in Ktown 🐟

Today I visited a friend-recommended spot: šŸ“ Hwa A Kwang Jang (translated as ā€œLive Fish Plazaā€) — check the tagged location for the exact address! I absolutely love Korean-style sashimi sets because they usually come with tons of side dishes and soup 🄣, and the dipping sauces are much more aligned with my taste buds! Appetizers: 🄣 They served a complimentary porridge—it tasted like it was made with abalone innards, super fragrant! šŸ² Clam and mussel soup: light but seriously spicy—perfect for waking up the appetite! šŸŒ¶ļø Main Dishes: 1ļøāƒ£ Sashimi Platter: 🐟 The salmon and tuna were chilled—some pieces of tuna were still partially frozen in the middle. 🐟 Most of it was halibut—nice and chewy! You can dip it in the red spicy sauce and wrap it in lettuce or perilla leaves. 🐟 The fattier part of the halibut was super bouncy—almost like beef cartilage! 2ļøāƒ£ Seafood Platter: šŸ¦ž The lobster’s antenna was still moving when it was served—I was too scared to try it! 🄺 šŸ’™ Raw abalone was incredibly chewy—my favorite! šŸ”¶ They also serve sea squirt (which isn’t commonly found)—it’s a bit bitter and not for everyone. šŸ¦‘ The octopus was blanched—pretty standard. Side Dishes: 🐟 Grilled salmon head—a little overcharred but tasty. šŸ¤ Sweet potato and onion tempura—so delicious! šŸ˜‹ šŸ¦ž Lobster soup—made from that same lively guy. It was mildly spicy and comforting, though not mind-blowing. Drinks: šŸø We ordered margaritas—haven’t had one in so long! The bubbly rice wine was super smooth. Price: Around $90 per person. This restaurant is in the same plaza as Three Cats šŸ±šŸ±šŸ±ā€”save some room to grab a drink there afterward! šŸ…æļø Parking is tricky, but there’s an attendant outside who helps—not sure if tipping is expected. We were lucky to grab the last spot! #LAEats #LAKoreanFood #LASashimi #KoreanSashimi #LARestaurantReview #FoodieGuide #KTownEats #SeafoodLovers #SashimiTime #LosAngelesDining #FoodReview #KoreanCuisine #FreshSeafood #EpicMeal #LAFoodScene
