All-You-Can-Eat Korean Sashimi in Ktown š
Today I visited a friend-recommended spot: š Hwa A Kwang Jang (translated as āLive Fish Plazaā) ā check the tagged location for the exact address! I absolutely love Korean-style sashimi sets because they usually come with tons of side dishes and soup š„£, and the dipping sauces are much more aligned with my taste buds! Appetizers: š„£ They served a complimentary porridgeāit tasted like it was made with abalone innards, super fragrant! š² Clam and mussel soup: light but seriously spicyāperfect for waking up the appetite! š¶ļø Main Dishes: 1ļøā£ Sashimi Platter: š The salmon and tuna were chilledāsome pieces of tuna were still partially frozen in the middle. š Most of it was halibutānice and chewy! You can dip it in the red spicy sauce and wrap it in lettuce or perilla leaves. š The fattier part of the halibut was super bouncyāalmost like beef cartilage! 2ļøā£ Seafood Platter: š¦ The lobsterās antenna was still moving when it was servedāI was too scared to try it! š„ŗ š Raw abalone was incredibly chewyāmy favorite! š¶ They also serve sea squirt (which isnāt commonly found)āitās a bit bitter and not for everyone. š¦ The octopus was blanchedāpretty standard. Side Dishes: š Grilled salmon headāa little overcharred but tasty. š¤ Sweet potato and onion tempuraāso delicious! š š¦ Lobster soupāmade from that same lively guy. It was mildly spicy and comforting, though not mind-blowing. Drinks: šø We ordered margaritasāhavenāt had one in so long! The bubbly rice wine was super smooth. Price: Around $90 per person. This restaurant is in the same plaza as Three Cats š±š±š±āsave some room to grab a drink there afterward! š æļø Parking is tricky, but thereās an attendant outside who helpsānot sure if tipping is expected. We were lucky to grab the last spot! #LAEats #LAKoreanFood #LASashimi #KoreanSashimi #LARestaurantReview #FoodieGuide #KTownEats #SeafoodLovers #SashimiTime #LosAngelesDining #FoodReview #KoreanCuisine #FreshSeafood #EpicMeal #LAFoodScene
