An Oasis of Cuisine at the Foot of the Rocky Mountains

🌹Chautauqua Dining Hall We drove up the mountain on the weekend to visit this century-old restaurant with mountain views, and were surprised to find it still full of afternoon tea guests at 3 p.m. 🍪The host seated us by the window in wicker chairs, pointing outside: "The Flatirons are on the left, and you can see the ski resort cable cars on the right." The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted under the wooden dome. 💛elderflower sparkling water garnished with wild chrysanthemums, picked just this morning from the backyard. 🍞Hikers at the next table enthusiastically shared trail routes and, hearing it was our first visit, pointed out the chef's special dessert made with Rocky Mountain wild berries on the menu. ☀️Though we didn't have dinner reservations, the bartender crafted us a signature drink called "Sunset Over the Flatirons." 🍁 The way the maple syrup slowly seeped into the whiskey along the glass rim resembled a setting sun dipping behind the mountains. #MountainViewRestaurant #FreshBakedBread #Boulder
