An Unexpected Taste of Italy in Boulder
🍕After an evening show at the Boulder Theater, we pushed open the heavy wooden door of Bacco Trattoria. 🌈Under the brick archway hung rows of cured ham, and behind the bar, the server was smoothly describing the day's wine selection in fluent Italian. 🍝We chose to sit at the bar and ordered pasta. The pickled bell peppers and artichoke hearts retained just the right amount of crunch, pairing refreshingly with the arugula salad. 🍕The Chianti recommended by the sommelier carried a hint of cherry aroma, perfectly balancing the savory notes of the cured meat. 🥑At the next table, a regular was discussing the freshly arrived white truffles with the chef, while the air was filled with the inviting scent of toasted garlic and herb bread. ✨ Hearing we were from the East Coast, the owner kindly sent over two glasses of limoncello, sharing stories of his grandfather’s traditional recipe from Sicily. We returned the second night for the lobster special and discovered a small fountain tucked away on the patio. #BoulderTheater #Pasta #BaccoTrattoria
