Anchorage, Alaska Food Guide 🍽️❄️
After spending 10 days in Alaska, I tried some highly recommended restaurants — some were hits, some were misses. Here’s my honest review: 🍣 Miso Sushi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Though we suspected it might be Korean-run, the sashimi was incredibly fresh! 🐟 Four of us devoured a huge platter in 10 minutes and almost ordered another. While the sashimi was a standout, other dishes were just okay. ☕ Snow City Cafe ⭐️⭐️ Maybe our expectations were too high, but we all found it underwhelming (even a bit disappointing). One friend found uncooked egg whites in their dish 🍳, and they’ve stopped serving some of their previously recommended items. They’ve also replaced king crab with snow crab due to rising prices. The coffee and drinks were decent — better than the food! If you’re short on time, skipping this place is no big loss. 🥢 WONJO Korean Cuisine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We ate here twice! One server (maybe the owner?) spent three years in Shenyang and spoke some Chinese — she was super warm and attentive. As someone from Atlanta, I can say this Korean food would rank among the best even there! The banchan (side dishes) were plentiful — I’ve never seen so many! Compared to Seoul Gate in Fairbanks (which didn’t even put kimchi in our army stew!), WONJO is miles ahead. 🍕 Moose‘s Tooth Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As raved about in other reviews — this pizza is delicious! 🧀 Toppings are generous, the crust is chewy and not greasy. A must-try! 🍦 Wild Scoops Ice Cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just okay — I prefer Jenni’s Ice Cream. The cone wasn’t very sturdy or flavorful, and the ice cream was overly sweet. 🦀 Seafood Tip: If you’re traveling with a group and staying in an Airbnb, consider buying fresh seafood from Costco and cooking yourself! We got never-frozen halibut, tuna, and king crab legs 🦀. For under $50 per person, we enjoyed a luxurious seafood feast! 🎉 #AnchorageEats #AlaskaFood #TravelAlaska #FoodReview #SeafoodLover #KoreanFood #PizzaTime 🏔️🍣🦀
