Anchorage Food Exploration 1.0 ποΈπ
On our first day in Anchorage, we stumbled upon a popular Chinese restaurant when we had no idea where to eat β and after trying it, we highly recommend it! π We arrived at 11:30 AM and it was already getting busy β definitely a hot spot! Hereβs what we thought: Jimmyβs Asian Food Restaurant π₯’ Named after the owner, Jimmy! π¨π³ Mala Xiang Guo (Spicy Pot): Served sizzling with a rich, savory-spicy sauce πΆοΈπ₯. Itβs packed with pan-fried tofu, crispy potatoes, and beef. The portion was huge β and no filler veggies at the bottom! Just more goodness. A bit oily, but otherwise perfect. Cumin Lamb: Fragrant and flavorful β no gaminess at all! π The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. Not a βfind-the-meat-in-the-cilantroβ situation β generous and satisfying. Avocado Sushi: For those who donβt like fish π₯π£. Honestly, it was loaded with avocado (only 1/3 rice!). The rice was soft, and the avocado was ripe and fresh. Great for a quick takeaway meal! Hand-Torn Cabbage: We needed a veggie dish π₯¬. This had serious wok hei (breath of the wok) β stir-fried with high heat and great aroma. The portion was smaller compared to the meat dishes, but tasty! Nowβ¦ the real test: whether weβll survive the night without stomach issues (eating at Chinese restaurants abroad can be risky π ). Fingers crossed! π€ #AnchorageEats #FoodReview #ChineseFood #AlaskaFoodie #JimmyAsianFood #SpicyPot #FoodieLife π₯’π₯π
