1️⃣ Chapel of the Holy Cross ⛪ Free admission & parking. Opens at 9 AM. The first parking lot at the foot of the hill offers a full view. A short hike leads to the chapel. 2️⃣ Blue McDonald’s 🍔 Free admission & parking. The only McDonald’s with blue arches! Offers the usual menu plus blue slushies and drinks. 3️⃣ Devil’s Bridge Trail 👹 Free admission & parking. Park at Mescal Trailhead. The round-trip hike takes about 3 hours (including photos). Best to visit in the morning for ideal lighting. 4️⃣ Airport Scenic Lookout 🏞️ Free admission; $3 daily parking fee. Alternatively, park for free at Airport Trail (0.6 miles away). Great daytime red rock views—night views are just okay. 5️⃣ Cathedral Rock at Sunset 🌄 Free admission & parking, BUT complicated: Mon-Wed: Drive directly to Cathedral Rock Trailhead. Thu-Sun: The trailhead is accessible by car only after shuttle hours (check official website). Better option Thu-Sun: Park at Little Horse Trailhead and walk 20 mins to the trail. This makes returning easier after sunset. Alternatively, take the shuttle, but note that it stops operating after sunset, leaving you with a long walk back. ⭐ Highly recommend watching sunset here! The view is stunning 🤩 especially after the challenging climb. It took us 30 mins to reach the top. Start climbing 1 hour before sunset for a relaxed pace. ⚠️ Safety note: This trail is only about 1 mile but very steep! I was literally crawling on all fours 🧗♀️. The wind at the top is strong—I needed 5 mins to recover before standing 🫨. Going down? Just slide on your butt—it works! 😂 🍽️ Lunch: Blue McDonald’s 🍟 🍽️ Dinner: Mesa Grill ($25 per person). Highly recommended! Large portions—we loved the Fish & Chips and Pork Ribs. The waiter approved our order 😭. It’s right near Airport Scenic Lookout—perfect for sunset and night views. ✨ Renting a car is recommended 🚗. Pick up and return at the airport rental center (take Sky Train to get there). ✨ We had rain, clouds, and sandstorms during our trip—but luckily the weather cooperated whenever we needed to take photos! 📸 #Travel #Arizona #Sedona
