Around Boston|Burlington VT Resorts & Breweries 🍺 Continuing from the last post—more eats, drinks, and fun around Burlington VT! Burlington is about 40 minutes from Stowe, a ski hotspot with tons of awesome resorts. Though some resorts keep their activities private (like Smugglers‘ Notch Resort—bummer!). We planned our Christmas trip a bit late, so we skipped the pricier resorts. But we found this gem while researching—open to non-guests, full of Austrian charm, and most importantly, it’s the resort run by the real family that inspired The Sound of Music! ❕ 🏡 Trapp Family Lodge 📍 700 Trapp Hill Rd, Stowe, VT 05672 Now run by the third generation, they host daily activities—no need to stay overnight to join! We listened to stories about The Sound of Music family and their history (got a signature from a descendant afterward—so cool👍). You can also try snowshoeing, horseback riding, disc golf, dog sledding, concerts, skiing… so many options! We had an Austrian/German Christmas buffet at the dining hall—delicious food, but the holiday price tag stung…😅 Their house-brewed German beer was amazing though—warm and cozy, totally worth it~ 🍻 Burlington and surrounding areas are packed with great breweries/distilleries—cheers to that: Citizen Cider: Super refreshing fruity ciders, perfect for those who prefer lighter drinks~ 🍎 Burlington Beer Company: Insane beer selection, and the food is fire! Their fried chicken burger is life-changing—pair it with a beer for perfection~ 🍔 Shelburne Vineyard: A winery for those who love a nice, mellow buzz~ 🍷 Zero Gravity Brewery: Awesome vibe and unique beer styles~ Switchback Brewing Co.: Offers brewery tours to learn how beer is made~ Smugglers' Notch Distillery: Great for bold spirits lovers—strong and flavorful~ 🥃 Mad River Distillers Burlington: Killer cocktails, both beautiful and tasty~ The Alchemist Brewery: Super cool graffiti-covered spot! Near Trapp Lodge, easy to hit on the way~ 🎨 #BostonLife#BostonWeekend#AroundBoston#BostonDayTrips#Vermont#BostonRoadTrip#VermontUSA#Burlington#USLesserKnownTravel
