Around Boston | A Day Trip to Rockport
Around Boston | A Day Trip to Rockport! Catch the Tail of Summer and Have Fun by the Sea🌊 Summer in Boston always seems to fly by. As the weather slowly cools down, I hurried to the coastal town of Rockport last weekend, eager to feel the seaside sun and breeze one more time before summer ends, leaving a sweet memory for this season~🥰 I chose public transportation for this trip to Rockport. It takes about an hour and a half by the Purple Line train, no need to drive and look for parking spots— the whole journey was super hassle-free! Along the way, watching the scenery outside the window change from the high-rise buildings in the city to the suburban green trees, lawns and low cottages, my mood gradually relaxed. Even the slight jolt of the train became comforting~🚊 As soon as I got off the train, a faint smell of seawater drifted to my nose, and my stomach gurgled in agreement. Without hesitation, I headed straight to the lobster restaurant I’d been thinking about. After all, coming to Rockport would be a pity without eating fresh lobster! While waiting in line, I could hear local people chatting next to me, saying that the seafood in this lobster restaurant was just fished from the harbor that morning. My expectation soared. It didn’t take long to get the steaming hot lobster. When I cracked open the shell, it was full of sweet lobster meat. One bite, and the tiredness of the journey disappeared instantly, leaving only full happiness~🦞 After eating and drinking, I started wandering around the town slowly. The pace of Rockport is really slow. Colorful small houses line the streets—some have cute wind chimes hanging at the door, tinkling when the wind blows; some have yards full of colorful flowers, and the air is filled with the fragrance of flowers~🌸 Halfway through the walk, I also met a super cute cat by chance! It was lying on the balcony of a house, sleeping in the sun, its fluffy body curled into a small ball, and its paws moved slightly occasionally, as if having a sweet dream. I stood there watching for a long time, reluctant to leave, afraid of disturbing its sweet dream. Finally, I secretly took a photo before leaving gently. This kind of unexpected little beauty is really healing~🐈 However, I also made a small mistake this time, and I must remind everyone: when going to the beach, you really need to apply sunscreen all over your body!!! I was in a hurry to go out at that time, so I only applied sunscreen to my face and neck, and completely forgot to apply it to my arms. As a result, after wandering by the beach for a day, I found my arms were red and hot when I got home at night, and they started peeling the next day, which was painful and itchy. I regretted it so much😭 So when you go to the beach, whether it’s cloudy or sunny, remember to apply sunscreen to all exposed skin, otherwise sunburn will be really uncomfortable! Although there was a small episode due to not applying sunscreen, this day trip to Rockport was still super happy! I felt the sea breeze, ate delicious lobster, met a cute cat, and collected pockets full of sunshine and happiness~If you also want to go to the beach before summer ends, Rockport is really a great choice, and it will definitely bring you full of happiness!💫 #BostonLife #BostonTravel #InternationalStudentTravel #SeasidePhotography
