Around Columbus|Finally, a Thai Restaurant – Erawan Thai 🍛

Our town finally has a delicious Thai spot! Thai food lovers, rejoice! Great flavors, budget-friendly, and amazing value. The owner is super kind—highly recommend! 🍤 Appetizer: Snack Platter The chicken wings were tasty, served with a unique dipping sauce that tasted like a mix of satay and curry. Solid choice—who can resist fried snacks, right? 🥣 Main 1: Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp Highly recommend this soup! It doesn’t look like much, but it’s incredibly flavorful—tangy like tom yum but slightly sweeter, perfect for those who prefer less acidity 😋. The only downside is that the sweetness reduces the soup’s usual refreshing, appetite-boosting effect. 🍛 Main 2: Green Curry Beef Another humble-looking dish but packed with flavor! The curry was delicious—I expected beef chunks but got tender slices instead. We ordered medium spice, but it wasn’t spicy at all. Next time, I’ll go extra hot to balance the sweetness! They have several curry options—I randomly picked green curry, but the others look great too. 🍜 Main 3: Drunken Noodles Recommended by the owner! The wide rice noodles were tasty but came out soft and sticky—somewhere between rice cakes and wide noodles. The owner noticed we weren’t eating much (we were just full 😅) and kindly offered to remake it. We asked for it drier and firmer, and he remade it with Pad Thai noodles—turned out like perfect crispy stir-fried ho fun! Pro tip: Ask for Pad Thai noodles instead—it’s a game-changer! 🍮 Dessert: Mango Sticky Rice We were too full but ordered it to go since the owner remade our noodles (so sweet of him!). Unless you’re really craving it, you can skip this one 🥲. Not bad, but they used firm apple mango—not sour, but missing that classic ripe mango sweetness. The sticky rice was decent, topped with a moist, cake-like layer soaked in coconut milk—looked weird but tasted nice with the rice. 🥥🍃 Overall: Highly recommended! Tasty, affordable, generous portions. A bit far from OSU and no delivery option yet 🥹, but the service is worth it. When I ordered Thai tea, the owner checked if it was too sweet and adjusted it just right. It’s rare to get such thoughtful service in the US—truly heartwarming 🥹. #OSU #ColumbusEats #ColumbusFood #ThaiFood #FoodReview #HiddenGem #ErawanThai
