Around Irvine๏ฝ๐ฅ๐ Hidden Korean Gems in Orange County!
As a ๐ฐ๐ท daughter-in-law, here are some truly delicious Korean spots in OC โ list will keep growing! โ๏ธ ๐ Jinsol Gukbap ๐ 10330 Beach Blvd A, Stanton, CA 90680 A Busan-style soup & rice spot (also in LA). If you love soup, rice-in-soup, or boiled pork, this is your place! ๐ Top 1: Pork Belly Slice Unlike other places that serve it pre-plated, here it comes on a small stove to keep simmering at your table. The meat is rich but not greasy, perfect with rice. ๐ฒ Top 2: Pork Soup with Rice (Signature) You can tell the broth has been simmered for hours. Add a dash of pepper, sea salt, or shrimp paste to taste. Throw in the side of chives โ I also like to mix in some gochujang! ๐ Yigah Restaurant ๐ 2750 Alton Pkwy, Irvine, CA 92606 ๐ฅฃ Top 1: Seolleongtang with Sliced Brisket Yigah is famous for seolleongtang โ a milky, rich beef bone broth simmered for hours. Enjoy it with lots of scallions and salt. For more flavor, add a bit of the radish kimchi broth from the banchan. Most Koreans eat it as soup over rice. ๐ Top 2: Korean-Style Tonkatsu Forget small Japanese portions โ Yigahโs king-sized pork cutlet is a showstopper! Pounded thin but wide, itโs huge โ enough for two easily. The cabbage salad with corn on the side is also delicious (I always finish the corn ๐). My only complaint: need more rice! ๐ฉ Tip: For 3 people, two dishes are enough โ portions are generous. Note: Prices have gone up post-pandemic, and the new owner added some non-traditional items that are just okay. These are mine and my Korean husbandโs personal favorites โ tastes vary, so feel free to share your thoughts too! ๐ฌ #LAKoreanFood #OCEats #OrangeCountyFood #KoreanCuisine #HiddenGems #IrvineFoodie ๐
