I went to Jinsol restaurant today-on a slow Wed. evening around 6:00 p.m. with a friend. We ordered two pork soup bowls and a chive pancake, and one of the soups we ordered had a fly in it. I told a Latino employee who was passing by and told her I didn't want the replacement soup. She nodded and took it to the counter by the kitchen to show the Korean staffs. They were all silent and looking at the soup bowls but no one came to our table. I looked at them and one of them yelled from the counter, "did you want the replacement?" I was shocked and thinking ‘Are you kidding me? Did you just ask me from all the way from there?’ I didn't complain because my friend was enjoying her soup as pork soup is one of her favorite soups and I didn't want to break her time, but none of the staffs apologized at all even after we paid the bill and walked out of the restaurant. I don't know if this is the way to treat customers who were served a soup with a fly in it. I know that the owner of Jinsol Gukbap is well-known businessman and owns many of restaurants in K-Town L.A., but I wonder if the reputation of the owner and image of these restaurants are suffering because of these poorly trained staffs. It's not the employees' fault that there was a fly in the food, but it’d be great to see if this restaurant staffs could work on their customer services in these tough...

If you are going for the first time and not as familiar with Korean food, I would absolutely recommend the hot pot beef Bulgogi. It comes bubbling in a sweet rich broth with a hearty serving of shaved beef, onion, carrot, rice, cake, and deliciously chewy sweet potato noodles with rice on the side. I would also highly recommend the leek pancake which is green onion and seafood mixed and pan fried in a thin but rich batter.
The banchan is very good as well and comes with every meal. Some of the items include chives, cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, pepper kimchi and other items. They also have complimentary barley tea but you usually have to request it.
I also tried their bibimbap which had quality ingredients in a sizzling hot stone bowl. The best part is your rice will cook as you eat, leaving you with a layer of brown crisp rice at the bottom of your bowl. I will say, I would have liked a little more meat in the dish. Also, I may be used to a sweeter more Americanized version, as this one was more salty/savory so it wasn’t as much to my taste but they does not at all mean it’s not a good dish - just something to be aware of.
We already went twice this week the food was so comforting and tasty. We...
Read moreEasy to miss restaurant and very small parking lot in the back. With every restaurant in Los Angeles, just make sure you have your vaccination proof and ID ready once you enter the restaurant because they will ask for verification. My friend and I decided to try this restaurant thanks to an Instagram post she saw online. When we got here, there wasn't any wait even though the restaurant was still busy at that time.
Pork Soup W/ Rice: great pork flavor and you can really smell and taste it. It's quite different than what you'd get from Han Bat since the broth is made with pork, instead of beef.
Busan Bibim Dangmyeon: tasted like japchae to me but with a little different ingredients. Sweet and decadent on your first bite.
Leek Pancake: if you love a stinky breath, it'll definitely leave a lingering smell after you eat it. The pancake is nicely pan fried and pairs well with the sauce they provide.
Spicy Pork Ribs: generous amount of meat but the flavor was lacking. I'm a huge fan of Ham Ji Park's spicy pork ribs and I had high hopes with this dish. My advice would be for them to apply more generous amount of sauce to the ribs because it tasted dry.
Overall, I would come back and try other dishes because this spot seems popular and great for our rare fall/winter...
