Around Irvine|Japanese Spot with Pleasant Surprises – EAT'S SUSHI 🍣

Another day, another Japanese meal—saw many people recommending this place, so I had to try. 🐙 Sashimi: New Style Octopus – My favorite! Infused with black and white truffle oil, accented with lemon and yuzu. Enhances the mild flavor of the tender octopus slices. Cut just right, though my friend wished they were thicker for more chew (maybe he’s used to chewing gum 😆). 🥢 Appetizer: Tako Wasabi Only ordered one small dish because my friend loves octopus 🐙—raw, cooked, big, small, he wants it all! But here’s the tip: take a shiso leaf, some onion shreds, and a few pieces of wasabi octopus, roll it up like a taco—totally elevates the experience! The pickled cucumber slices on the side are refreshing, similar to Sprite-pickled cucumbers. 🍙 Hand Rolls: Eel & Salmon Skin Salmon skin was a bit over-toasted—crispy but slightly bitter. Eel hand roll came with two generous slices of eel—more eel than rice, can you believe it? 🍣 Roll: Black Spider Roll Huge portion—each piece was almost palm-sized! Eel, tuna tartare, avocado 🥑—all my favorites. So satisfying! 🥩 Entree: Beef Teriyaki I have to rave about this! No joke, better than many steaks I’ve had at fusion spots. They use ribeye 🥩, served on a bed of onions. Only nitpick: the sauce leans sweet. Otherwise, it rivals steakhouses back home! Perfect cook, ideal marbling, beef aroma really shines. And get this—$11.99! Cheaper than buying and cooking it yourself. 🥗 Salad: Avocado Salad Love their ginger dressing—tangy, refreshing, helps balance the “coolness” of raw foods and clears any fishy aftertaste. Thoughtful touch! 🌿 Wasabi: Freshly grated! So good—real grated wasabi with a bit of texture, not the industrial paste. 📌 Conclusion: For the price range, they clearly prioritize quality and flavor over cutting costs. This whole spread came to $47 per person—and we couldn’t even finish it (plus we barely ordered sushi!). Another successful blind-box meal day 🎉. #LosAngeles #LALife #Irvine #Foodie #IrvineLife #UCI #JapaneseFood
