Calling all those peeps that can't ever decide whether they want sushi or kbbq! If you're looking to satisfy both cravings without breaking the bank, check out this spot that offers both AYCE sushi and kbbq for only $23.99+tax per person! I literally did a double take as I drove by because I thought I had been transported back into the pre-covid era. I also did a double take at its name, because the name of the establishment is what they offer. I like it, super straightforward with no frills. It's very rare these days to find a spot that offers both AYCE sushi and kbbq at such reasonable prices these days. This spot is getting more popular due to its great value and the quality of food received at its price so make sure to come hungry and come early because lines were out the door when I went on a Sunday afternoon. Honestly, I hope they're able to keep this affordable because that is what sets them apart from other kbbq spots in the Ktown area. There's already an influx of kbbq spots in the area and if they were to raise their prices to match with their competitors, they'd have to make many adjustments to their offerings to keep up with the intense competition.
|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Located on Wilshire Blvd. and St. Andrews Pl. -They have their own parking lot at the rear side (on Ingraham St.). Although plenty of spaces, it does fill up pretty quickly and I believe at one point near the evening, it becomes valet parking? We came in on a Sunday afternoon around 3:45pm and were lucky and found a spot right away. Came out near 5pm and it was valet parking with a bunch of cars waiting in line to get their car parked.
|| F O O D || MEATS: You get 7 types of meat: brisket, bulgogi, beef belly, pork belly, wine pork belly, short rib, and chicken bulgogi. I was honestly surprised that the short rib was even on this list. Although the list is missing some of my favorites like beef tongue, I know typically at other kbbq spots, beef tongue is only offered at a higher tier. I was pretty content with the types of meats available for us to choose. Our favorites were definitely the brisket, wine pork belly and the short rib. The wine pork belly is super fragrant. As soon as it hits the grill, you immediately smell that wine that it was marinated in. I liked how the cut wasn't too thin or too thick. I don't like it when it's too thick because I always end up over cooking my pork belly to ensure that it's been fully cooked. For the short rib, it's so nice that they cut it up in small pieces so it's easier to chew. It was actually a lot more tender than I expected. The brisket wasn't all fatty pieces like you'd find at the cheaper kbbq spots.
SUSHI: You get a selection from nigiri, hand rolls, fresh fish rolls, tempura rolls, and baked rolls. They don't offer sashimi here and I'm not surprised that they don't because it wouldn't make sense for them to do so. I was honestly surprised at the vast selection of sushi. I thought this spot would be more focused on kbbq with some basic offerings of sushi, but I was so wrong. I wish I had the stomach to order more from their sushi selection but I didn't want to get immediately full from just my sushi order, so I only got the Eel roll and calamari roll. I liked how the rolls were a smaller size so you could order and try more variety. I definitely need to try their baked rolls and hand rolls...
Read moreYes I have the right to post my opinions on Yelp and Google Review. You still have not address the way you charge customers which is the reason why I am posting. I don't understand why ethnicity is a problem? I don't know you and I have no reason to play games with you. Good luck with your business. To reply to the owner: I am not spreading any false information. This was indeed our first and last time. We are not korean so I am not sure what you are talking about. Neither did we have a conversation with you or anyone about the economy.
So what you are telling me is that you charge $23.91 if we pay CASH. I calculated this and this is correct. BUT if we paid with credit card, you are charging $25.15 (($62.18 - tax - 14% service charge)/2)=$25.15. Where is the $23.95 as advertised? All the AYCE restaurants I've been to charge the price as advertised and that is the price whether you are paying with cash or credit card. Maybe you should advertise the pricing as "$23.91 if you pay with CASH, $25.15(tips and tax not included yet) if you pay with CARD." Thanks. I do not like giving bad reviews but this business is very dishonest. This is our first time here. One of their rule is they will charge extra if we leave a lot of food. Some of their meat was very hard and had a lot of tendon. We were not able to swallow the tendon that was in the marinated short ribs so we had to bite those out. We told them that when they said they would charge a little bit extra for that. We thought they understood and would not charge us extra. When they gave us the check, the lady kind of rushed us by standing beside us and kept telling me tax and tips are already included(probably making sure we didn’t see that little detail of them charging extra). It’s supposed to be $23.95 and they charged us $24.91(you could see in the picture that it is very easy to miss as it doesn’t state extra charge). It’s not only about the extra 96 cents charge per person but more about them being dishonest and also expecting us to finish the hard meat and tendon that was not chewable. If what we leave is considered “a lot of food” from your rule that makes you charge extra, I have no comment. Not to mention, there was also a small tiny piece of plastic paper on one of the nigiri’s I almost ate which I should’ve taken a picture of, but I did not want to cause trouble. Only good thing here is the good service from the employees working there. I would not come here again. The dishonesty, food and price are not worth it. Who knows how much they want to charge again depending on how they feel what “a lot of food”...
Read moreDecent food, great prices, staff was kind and timely but horrible service from the management😔 Me and my family of five showed up excited to try this place. We walk inside the restaurant through the front door unaware that in order to be placed on the waiting list you'll need to enter through the back door. As we waited for a host to explain that, he approached us in an extremly rude manner to "Go that way!". I was a little taken back by the attitude however Im not easily offended when it comes to things like that. Sometimes people just have bad days.... Plus I had three young boys and a husband whom were all very hungry and eager to eat. So we decide to wait on the list which took about an hour for us to finally be seated. Once they brought out our first two rounds of food we were really enjoying everything. Our rounds were fairly small for a family of 5 since sometimes our kids can be picky. So after our third we decided to do one last one and get the check. It is however an "All You Can Eat", So during that last round my husband and I finally got to eat more of the BBQ meats while the kids were seemingly full and scounged theirs. About after that time my husband had already paid our check and a manager walks up to our table. At first he does a quick friendly greeting but to be honest not sure what else exactly he was trying to say because he had a heavy accent and also seemed to be directing his attention towards my husband. So I did not make up every word he said but then he points at me and very directly states "oh wow she still eating" 🫠. I smile it off and the he proceeds to say we have a very busy night, it's more unusual than others, and so we hope you can leave soon 🙃 I'm not a fighter and neither is my husband so we just gave each other a look, smiled and said oh yeah we understand. He goes on and tries to lie we will be closing soon... it was close to 8pm and they close at 12 am; then goes please understand, thank you and walks off. We felt so uncomfortable after that 😫 and I hate to do this review but I just want to give a heads up to anyone considering this place ESPECIALLY a family with young kids. BEWARE. They apparently will rush you without an ounce of compassion towards your discomfort for their greedy intent to seat more people and grow...
