Aswan 2-Day Guide|Temples, Boat Rides, Old Market & a Sandstorm

Day 1|Cairo → Aswan 📌 8:00 Landed at Aswan Airport (Taxi tips in my earlier post ✈️) 📌 12:00 Checked in & had lunch 🏨 Stayed at Basma Hotel — highly recommended! Their outdoor dining area overlooks the Nile 🌊. Sipping coffee while watching boats drift by was pure serenity. ☕⛵ 📌 14:00–16:30 Philae Temple This temple sits on an island — accessible only by boat 🚤. A must-see in Aswan! • Tour time: 1–2 hrs • Boat price reference: 1 person 300 EGP / 2 people 500 EGP 3 people 600 EGP / 4 people 700 EGP 💡 Pay on return + take photo of boatman for safety 🛍️ Skip expensive stalls near temple — better deals at Aswan Market! 📌 17:00–19:00 Nile Sunset Boat Tour Planned a Felucca ride, but switched to motorboat due to weather — turned out amazing! Boatman promised 1 hour but gave us 2 🕑 — sailed through reeds, picked us flowers, played music 🎶🌾… vibe was perfect! • Tour: 1–2 hrs • Ask boatman to buy drinks (we had 3 beers 🍺 — one for him) 📍 Dock location: Near KFC Aswan 💵 Price: Aim for 300 EGP; we paid 500 due to weather 📌 19:00–20:00 Aswan Market Walked from dock → market… then a sandstorm hit! 🌪️ Vendors packed up, we retreated quickly. Market is smaller than Luxor’s but more compact and close to pier. Day 2|Abu Simbel Temple One of Upper Egypt’s most impressive temples — worth the long ride! 🚗💨 • Car price: ~3500 EGP (round trip) 📝 Specify in advance: includes AC ❄️, excludes tolls/police fees/parking 🛑 Driver often stops at desert cafes — communicate preferences early ⏳ Round trip: 6–7 hrs → Temple visit: ~2 hrs 📸 Best photo spot: Bench area opposite temple — less crowded, great view ✅ Afterwards, we took a private car to Luxor — more on that later! Aswan was chaotic, real, and unforgettable — truly Egyptian. Questions?
