The Best Money I Spent in Egypt!

We didn’t go to Aswan for Abu Simbel — we went for the Old Cataract Hotel! 💸 Yes, it’s expensive. But standing on the balcony watching the most magical Nile sunset 🌅, I suddenly understood: Some views are worth every penny. How often do you turn the best spot on the Nile into your private viewing platform? Maybe just once in a lifetime! ✨ 🏨 The Hotel Has Two Wings: 🏛️ Old Wing: Vintage charm — Agatha Christie stayed here while writing Death on the Nile 🖋️📖. But facilities are older, and it’s pricier than the new wing. 🏙️ New Wing: More modern, business-style rooms — but the balcony views are even better! We stayed on the 6th floor — absolutely breathtaking! 🌊 😊 Pleasant Surprise: Guests can visit Churchill’s suite! Unfortunately, it was occupied during my stay… 👎 The Downsides (Besides the Price): Public areas are small — no expansive resort vibe. The garden is tiny 🌿, pool is average 🏊. Not a full luxury resort experience. Only 3 restaurants 🍽️: One French restaurant (no kids allowed) One Egyptian cuisine We ate mostly at the Terrace Restaurant — food was okay, not amazing. Breakfast was decent with à la carte options. 💁‍♀️ If you judge by room quality, food, and facilities — price is high by global standards. A big part of what you’re paying for is the view. But the hotel’s history and location make it worth it when you remember: “Outside the window is the most beautiful stretch of the Nile.” 😍 ☕ Not Staying There? You can still enjoy afternoon tea here! You’ll experience almost all the beauty — except the high-floor perspective. This view is one-of-a-kind in Egypt. Totally worth it! 🏜️👌 #TravelStories #EgyptTravel #Aswan #OldCataractHotel #NileRiver #WorthEveryPenny #LuxuryTravel #WorldWanderer 🌍💛🌅📸🛳️🍹
