ATL 1678 Omakase | Honest Review
TL;DR: We tried the $78 lunch – 16 courses. The fish quality was decent, and you definitely get your money's worth in quantity — think satisfying, hearty sushi 🍣 — but our overall experience fell short of expectations. 😕 We had a 2 PM reservation, but at 1:30 PM, the restaurant called to say service was delayed and asked us to arrive at 2:15 PM. Since we were already on the road, we ended up waiting outside for 35 minutes after arriving. Once inside, we were seated not at the main bar (the one you always see in photos), but in a separate, dimly lit area with minimal ambiance. It felt like a back room — just a small window where we could glimpse the chef prepping with basic equipment, while hearing laughter and chatter from the main bar. It honestly felt like we were “downgraded” even though we paid the same price.👌 When we asked if we could switch seats, the response was a blunt “No, you cannot” — no explanation or apology.❤️ Food-wise, the $78 price tag is fair for what you get: Wagyu, uni, generous cuts of tuna, etc. Flavors leaned bold, and the slightly vinegared rice helped balance the richness. But if you’re looking for a refined, traditionally paced, chef-driven omakase experience — this isn’t it.😍 What’s hard to accept is that a restaurant offering omakase would provide two clearly different dining experiences without prior notice, yet charge the same price. It feels misleading and somewhat disrespectful to guests.👍 I don’t enjoy leaving critical reviews, but I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve — and gives future diners a clearer idea of what to expect. #AtlantaOmakase #1678Omakase #HonestReview #SushiLovers #DiningExperience #AtlantaEats #FoodieTruth #ValueMeal #CustomerExperience #OmakaseReview
