Atlanta|The Charcoal Grilled Pork I Can’t Forget 🐖🔥
Posting a lot lately, I know — but this one’s worth sharing! A couple years ago, my best friend brought me takeout of 숯불돼지줄고기 (Charcoal Daeji Bulgogi) from Jang Su Jang, and I’ve been craving it ever since. 😭💖 Bulgogi is usually marinated sweet, and as a Hunan native, I’m normally not into sweet sauces (especially sweet-spicy — my fellow spice lovers get it 🌶️). But this charcoal-grilled pork belly is different — the smokiness balances the sweet-salty marinade so well. That subtle charred aroma, paired with fresh scallions… it’s seriously addictive over rice. 🍚✨ On the flip side, their Old-Style Marinated Beef in Broth was too sweet for me — and I’m not a fan of that kind of sweetness (different from sukiyaki sweet). It comes with beef, glass noodles, and scallions, but it just didn’t hit right. I’ve also ordered a similar dish at Han Il Kwan (comes with mushrooms and cabbage), but it still leaned too sweet for my taste. Sweet-tooth friends might enjoy it, though! If you love smoky, savory, grilled goodness, don’t miss the charcoal pork bulgogi. It’s that perfect kind of comforting, flavorful Korean BBQ that stays on your mind. #AtlantaEats #KoreanBBQ #CharcoalGrill #Bulgogi #JangSuJang #SavoryOverSweet #ComfortFood #ATLFoodScene #HunanEater #SmokyFlavors #MustTry
