Atlanta | A Japanese Spot Specializing in Okonomiyaki 🏮
This is another place that’s been on my saved list for a long time. The reason I saved it? Simple: it’s the first Japanese restaurant I’ve seen that specializes in okonomiyaki instead of sushi or ramen. Interesting, right? 🤔 It’s a bit far, near the zoo, so it’s not really worth making a special trip for. Ambiance: 4/5 (During peak hours, only the bar seats are available, but the atmosphere is quite nice. You can watch the chef cook right next to you.) Service: 4/5 (The staff are pretty patient.) Food: 4/5 Value for Money: 4/5 🌟 Okonomiyaki $9 I went for the smaller size since I wasn’t very hungry. The larger one is $13, and you can add one topping. I chose octopus from the dozen options. The vegetable batter is topped with plenty of sweet and savory okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise. It arrives hot, with the bonito flakes dancing in the heat. The savory aroma is right up my alley. 🌟 Yaki Udon $15 The stir-fried udon noodles can also have one topping added. I thought shrimp would be a good match, so I went with that. The noodles are chewy, and the vegetables, stir-fried with the sauce, are fragrant. The portion is a bit on the small side, though. 🌟 Tonkatsu $7 The fried pork cutlet is a snack. The crust is quite crispy, but the meat is a bit tough, which detracts from the overall experience. 🌟 GOMA AMARETTO SOUR $15 This cocktail has a unique Japanese twist and left a strong impression. It’s based on amaretto and apple brandy, with citrus adding a tangy and refreshing note. The coconut and grapefruit foam on top is creamy, and the toasted sesame seeds and sesame oil bring a nutty aroma and a Japanese “goma” flavor. It’s definitely worth savoring. #Atlanta #AtlantaFood #AtlantaRestaurantReview #AtlantaEatingGuide
