While exploring the city, we decided to try a Spanish-inspired spot from our must-eat list—Cooks & Soldiers, which beautifully blends French and Spanish cuisines. The restaurant is spacious with dim, moody lighting, perfect for dates or group dinners. They also offer outdoor seating, though tables are a bit cozy. Our server Tracie was fantastic—she walked us through their most popular dishes and helped us choose. Highlights from our meal: 🍹 Pineapple-infused cocktail – lightly sweet, not too strong, so refreshing! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🦑 Grilled Spanish Octopus – tender, crispy, perfectly cooked with orange segments. Dip in the mild spicy sauce or enjoy as is. A must-order! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🦴 Roasted Bone Marrow – served with garnishes, caviar, and Greek sour cream on toast. Rich and indulgent. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🥪 Ham, Cheese & Black Truffle Sandwich – buttery, crispy white bread with quality cheese. The ham was a tad salty for me, but my little one devoured it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🍄 Smoked Mushroom Toast – earthy mushrooms with black truffle goat cheese and crème fraîche on soft sourdough. So flavorful! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🍚 Spanish Seafood Paella – made with premium Bomba rice—firm, separate grains soaked in rich broth. Huge mushrooms, fresh shrimp, and crisp green beans. Even a non-rice lover like me enjoyed it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🐑 Lamb Shoulder – cooked medium-rare, a bit chewy but well-seasoned. The sauce and avocado garnish were delicious. ⭐⭐⭐ 🍰 Basque Burnt Cheesecake – rich, creamy, topped with tangy fruit sauce and crispy bits. A perfect balance of sweet and tart. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price was around $50 per person. We loved the tapas-style servings and will definitely return to try the scallops Tracie recommended! 💖 💡 Tip: Valet parking is available behind the restaurant—ask for your ticket when paying. We didn’t know and paid $6 at the nearby lot.
