Atlanta | New Budget Omakase Spot — A Bit Disappointing 😐
💰 Price-wise, it’s definitely on the affordable end for ATL… but the experience left a lot to be desired. Tried the newly opened 1678 Omakase, named for its 16-course, $78 price tag. We opted for the Premium menu, and purely in terms of cost, it felt reasonable for Atlanta. But after the full experience, I’d say once is enough. ✔️ Fish freshness was okay ✔️ Premium ingredients were fairly standard for the price ❌ Nearly every course was just nigiri ❌ Fish was pre-cut, presentation was minimal — mostly just shaping rice on the spot If you’re looking for ceremony, pacing, and variety, this probably isn’t it. ⚠️ We had a 9:30 PM reservation but waited over 30 minutes to be seated — with no apology or explanation. ⚠️ Disposable chopsticks were used. ⚠️ No one refilled water unless we repeatedly asked. The service felt almost invisible — nothing like the attentive, curated experience you’d expect from omakase. 💭 Final thoughts: ✔️ If you just want to try omakase in Atlanta on a budget and don’t mind skipping the frills, you could try it once. ❌ But if you value thoughtful service, pacing, and presentation — this might leave you disappointed. 📍 1678 Omakase 804 Town Blvd A1050, Atlanta, GA 30319 #AtlantaOmakase #1678Omakase #BudgetSushi #HonestReview #ATLEats #JapaneseFood #ValueMeal #ServiceMatters #OmakaseExperience #FoodieThoughts
