Atlanta โ Destin: 2-Day Getaway Guide ๐๐
For the second year in a row, we made a last-minute decision for Memorial Day and drove from Atlanta to Destin, FL โ a 5.5-hour road trip thatโs totally worth it! We left Saturday, played all Sunday, and returned Monday afternoon. Hereโs the lowdown: ๐๏ธ Beach Vibes Head to the public beach โ soft sand, clear water, and when the sun hits just right, itโs almost like Cancunโs turquoise sea! ๐ ฟ๏ธ Free parking at Shoppes at Paradise Isle โ๏ธ No need to overplan: swim, relax under an umbrella, and sip a cool drink ๐ช Water Fun We booked with Miramar Beach Parasailing two years in a row โ highly recommend! Parasailing: So peaceful! Youโll soar above the coast and even dip your feet in the water Banana Boat: Hilarious and wild Sit in the back for maximum thrill โ I fell off and tasted the ocean for a solid 30 seconds ๐๐ฆ Life jackets keep you safe, but what a story! Foodie Highlights Crab Trap Destin: Fresh snow crab & seafood โ canโt go wrong Pompano Joeโs: Perfect post-adventure spot. Crab claws are addictive ๐ฆ๐ Boshamps: Oysters & seafood โ $20/dozen, so worth it McGuireโs Irish Pub: Try the โIrish Wakeโ cocktail for a fun twist ๐ซ Skip Cafe Destin Brunch โ unless youโre into food poisoning vibes ๐๏ธ Henderson Beach State Park Less crowded, more natural โ great for catching crabs & conchs! Note: Parking fee | More seaweed | Waves are stronger ๐ ๐ Crab Island โ still on my list for next time! โ ๏ธ Tips to Know SUNSCREEN. Always. Check beach flags ๐ฉ โ purple = jellyfish/rays nearby A friend got stung by a jellyfish โ not fun! Destin stole my heart all over again ๐ Have you been?
