Atlanta Eats & Drinks – Ethiopian Cuisine 🌍🍛
My first try of Desta Ethiopian Kitchen was during the pandemic — takeout only — and the tangy injera (spongy sourdough flatbread) left quite a strong (and sour!) impression. 😅 Honestly, it's an acquired taste I haven’t fully acquired yet! But I’ve always remembered how good their lentil and bean stews were. So, three years later, I gave it another shot with takeout — and yep, the injera is still sour (probably super healthy though!), but the stews are where it’s at. 🙌 We ordered the Meat Lover’s Combo — huge portions that lasted two meals! I might not know all the names, but here’s my take: Ater (yellow lentils) — mild and comforting 💛 Shiro (spiced chickpea stew) — flavorful with a gentle kick 🌶️ Spicy lentil stew — definitely my favorite ❤️🔥 Pro tip: Use the injera to scoop up the stews — it’s the traditional way, and the textures work together beautifully. Verdict: A bold, shareable, and hearty introduction to Ethiopian food. Even if the injera isn’t your thing, the stews alone are worth the visit. #DestaEthiopianKitchen #EthiopianFood #AtlantaEats #Injera #LentilStew #SpicyShiro #ShareableMeals #FoodAdventure #HealthyEats #FlavorJourney
