Atlanta Eats & Drinks – Filipino Cuisine 🍗✨
Craving Filipino food but couldn’t make it to the famously limited-hours Kamayan? Gave Estrellita a try instead — a well-rated spot with its own charm and quirks. Food: We started with Crispy Chicken Skin — salty, tangy, and perfectly crunchy. 🐔🔥 For mains (served as a protein + two sides combo): Half Fried Chicken — very crispy, old-school style, served dry with dipping sauce. Good, though I missed having cumin or seasoned salt! Packed the leftovers — still tasty reheated. Fried Pork Knuckle — super chewy and crispy (seriously, consider your jaw strength before ordering!). We took it home, chopped it up, and stir-fried it with peppers — much more tender that way. 🌶️🍖 Ambiance & Location: Small, warm inside, and street parking can be tricky. The surrounding area feels a bit uneven safety-wise, so I’d recommend coming earlier in the day or with company. 🚗⚠️ A Little Story: Sometimes kindness pays off — while parking, I let a pedestrian cross. Ended up taking his former spot instead of one closer to the restaurant. Not 10 minutes after sitting down, I watched a truck scrape the front bumper of the car in that “better” spot… Could’ve been me! 🙏😳 Verdict: Flavorful and hearty, but the location and seating aren’t the most comfortable. If you’re up for it, worth a visit — though I might still brave the lines at Kamayan next time. #Estrellita #FilipinoFood #AtlantaEats #CrispyChicken #PorkKnuckle #ComfortFood #StreetParking #FoodWithAStory #LocalEats #KamayanAlternative
