Atlanta Food Diary šŸ½ļø | A Taste of My Youth

Back in the city where I spent my youth—and this time, I’m diving deep into Atlanta’s amazing food scene! Here’s Part 2 of my culinary journey: 1. Korean Garden - Grilled Fresh Eel This was my first time trying freshly grilled eel, and wow—what an experience! 🐟 The meat was thick, bouncy, and rich with flavor. Grilled to perfection, the eel had a beautiful charcoal aroma and just the right amount of oily goodness. Each bite was pure satisfaction! The grilled beef and spicy cod were also top-tier šŸ‘Œ, though I’d skip the pork belly next time—it simply couldn’t compete after the eel and beef. A bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it if you’re up for a drive and a treat! 2. Iremon - Jamaican Jerk Oxtail Located near downtown, Iremon serves the most tender, fall-off-the-bone Jamaican jerk oxtail šŸ‚. It’s soft, fragrant, and packed with soul-warming flavor. I’ve never found oxtail this good in Seattle—this place is a real gem! 3. Chick-fil-A Headquarters Tour We visited the Chick-fil-A headquarters for the first time—and what an inspiring experience! 🐣 The tour had me laughing and crying (hello, empathy overload šŸ˜ā¤ļø). For just $10, you get a ticket that includes a burger and a dessert voucher. And guess what? It felt like a blessing—right after the tour, we got our fingerprint appointment for the green card/visa process! šŸ€ A little magic with those waffle fries! 4. Gyuniku Bushi - All-You-Can-Eat Wagyu Hot Pot Why doesn’t Seattle have a place like this?! 😭 This is wagyu heaven—unlimited hot pot with thinly sliced A5 wagyu, plus donburi bowls where you can load up on as much beef as you want! šŸšāœØ The menu also includes appetizers, boba tea, desserts, and hot pot ingredients like fresh omasum, beef tripe, and Gong Cai—everything included! I went all-in on the sweet shrimp and wagyu slices dipped in silky raw egg… pure happiness in a bowl! I’m not a huge tom yum fan (not sour or spicy enough for me), but the sukiyaki broth was everything. If I lived in Atlanta, I’d sign up for a membership in a heartbeat! Can’t wait to try their sister restaurant for AYCE wagyu barbecue next time. There were more spots I couldn’t include here—like Jeni’s Ice Cream and Popeyes—and so many others I didn’t get to try: the newly Michelin-starred Bacchanalia and Hayakawa, Jang Su Jang’s beef hot pot, Mamak’s Hainanese chicken and curry beef brisket, and Saint Germain’s canelĆ©s… next time! šŸ„šŸœ Every time I come back to Atlanta, I’m reminded of how friendly the people are, how lovely the weather is, and how affordable gas and life feel here šŸ’–. The city is growing fast—our old neighborhood now hosts offices from Microsoft, Square, Google, Amazon, and Meta! Even my dog made new friends in just a few days 🐶. Who knows? Maybe we’ll be back here someday. Until then… Atlanta, you’re forever in my heart! šŸ’« #AtlantaEats #FoodDiary #EatLikeALocal #SouthernEats #WagyuHeaven #AtlantaLove
