Atlanta turned out to be so much more fun than I imagined
Finally found some time to recap my Atlanta trip over Memorial Day weekend~ It’s only about a two-hour flight from DC — perfect for a short and relaxing getaway! 🛏 Stayed at AC Hotel Downtown the first night. The location was super convenient! Just a 5-minute walk to the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola — perfect for a lazy itinerary 😉 Heads up though: Downtown can be a bit noisy at night. Light sleepers might want to bring earplugs or choose a different area. 🐬 The aquarium has several sections — you can explore everything in about two hours. Highly recommend the dolphin show — those dolphins have some serious abs 😍 Remember to book your show time in advance via their app! 🥤 The World of Coca-Cola lets you taste soda flavors from around the world 🤣 There’s also a small exhibit about Coke’s history — super interactive and fun! 🌳 Moved to the Waldorf Astoria on the second night — what an upgrade! Better soundproofing and service. Highly recommend! 📷 On the third day, we visited the Atlanta Botanical Garden — soooo photogenic! 📸 Photo tip: Go early for softer light and fewer people. The garden is huge — perfect for a slow, relaxing stroll 🌸 🍴 The food scene deserves a shoutout — roughly 30% cheaper than DC, and almost every place we tried was a win. Good food without breaking the bank! 🚗 Got around using Uber the whole time. Rides were short and easy to book. ✨ Quick Tips: • Downtown hotels are convenient but can be noisy — choose wisely if you’re sensitive to sound • Visit the aquarium and Coke Center in the morning for fewer crowds • Remember to reserve dolphin show slots via the app • Botanical Garden = photo heaven! Wear bright colors for better pics 📷 📍 Short trip ✔️ Easy city exploring ✔️ Affordable good food ✔️ Instagrammable spots ✔️ #AtlantaTravel #CityGetaway #3DayTrip #BotanicalGardenPhotos #GeorgiaAquarium
