Authentic Mexican Tacos Next to H-Mart

🥏La Salsa Verde Taqueria 🏌️This taco place was recommended by a Mexican coworker I used to work with. It has multiple locations in Dallas. The one next to the H-Mart in Plano used to be in a small gas station across the street, with only a few tables. The space was quite cramped. The current location is more spacious, but it still gets crowded during meal times. I recommend ordering online and picking it up to save time. A friend mentioned that the original store is still there and has even better food. You can give it a try, but be aware that parking might be tight, and the environment is more suitable for takeout. 🍉Friends in Dallas have probably had Tex-Mex style tacos, where the meat is mostly grilled. If the restaurant isn’t very good, the meat can be quite dry. At this place, most of the meat in the tacos is stewed. When I visited Mexico City a few years ago, I noticed that this is a common way to prepare tacos there. The tacos here feature many cuts of meat that some Americans avoid but food connoisseurs love, such as beef tongue, beef cheek, and beef head meat. These are stewed until tender and juicy in a large pot, then shredded and placed between two corn tortillas. They’re topped with diced onions, cilantro, and a rich, spicy Mexican sauce. Each bite is incredibly satisfying. 🍓Sometimes the staff at the counter don’t speak English well. Once, I had to point at my face to order beef head meat, beef tongue, and beef cheek. I’m just glad they don’t sell any more “nourishing” parts, or I might have to write this recommendation from jail. #DallasLife #DallasFood #DallasDining
