Autumn Adventure in Aspen 🍂🚗
We set off from Denver at 8 AM and drove straight to Aspen. Make sure to set your route via Independence Pass—it’s an incredibly scenic highway winding through golden aspen groves 🍁⛰️. The drive took about 3.5 hours in total. The highlight of the day was visiting Maroon Bells 🏞️. We’d been checking the foliage reports daily, and though some leaves had already fallen, the views were still stunning! We took the 12 PM shuttle (reservations are essential 📅) and arrived around 12:30 PM. The sight of the sharp peaks, golden trees, and mirror-like lake was absolutely breathtaking 💫. Even in the afternoon, the lighting in the valley remained soft and bright—perfect for photos! We took an easy lakeside hike—highly recommend for all skill levels 🥾✨. Aspen itself is a small, walkable town 🏡. We strolled around, popped into luxury boutiques (note: hardly any ski gear available this early 🎿❌), and soaked in the peaceful, golden atmosphere. It’s quiet, charming, and ideal for a relaxing getaway—though be prepared for high prices 💸. A restaurant owner told us most businesses pay annual rent but only make money for half the year. I’d still love to come back for ski season someday! Tonight was clear and moonless—the sky was filled with stars 🌌. I even tried capturing it with my phone… not sure if I got the Milky Way, but it was magical all the same. #HikingTheWorld #AutumnInAspen #MaroonBells #ColoradoFall #Stargazing #TravelDiary 🍂📸✨
