Autumn Getaway: 2-Day Trip to Hocking Hills πποΈ
If youβre in Columbus and looking for a weekend hiking spot, Hocking Hills is a perfect choice! The trails are scenic but not too strenuous β ideal for a relaxing nature escape. Day 1 β Cozy Cabin Vibes We stayed at a Getaway cabin β so warm and inviting! π₯ Unfortunately, no fires allowed right now (so no BBQ or campfires) π° Rates vary β I paid $175/night for a 2-bed cabin (sleeps 4) π‘ Tip: For better views, book a 1-bed cabin β more open sightlines! π At night, you can stargaze right from your cabin β You can make your own breakfast and brew coffee β but bring your own pour-over kits (they charge for them!) π΅ We locked our phones in the cell phone lockbox and spent the night chatting and playing board games β so refreshing! Day 2 β Hiking & Scenery We started early from the Hocking Hills main parking lot β fewer crowds, more peaceful vibes π₯Ύ π§ By October, Cedar Falls had very little water β a bit disappointing, but we still skipped stones and enjoyed the calm π³ Along the Buckeye Trail, we found a reservoir β so serene! π Some trees had already turned red β gorgeous autumn colors! π Total hike: ~6 miles, about 3 hours β°οΈ No steep climbs β not too tiring, totally manageable for a weekend trip Food Stops We ate at: Urban Grill π΄ Millstone BBQ π Both are solid American-style spots β tasty and satisfying! #OSU #HockingHills #HikingAdventure #ColumbusTravel #WeekendGetaway #NatureEscape
