Autumn in Aspen is Arriving – A Peek at This Year‘s Colors! 🍂📅

On the morning of September 22, I headed to Maroon Bells — and wow, it did not disappoint! 🏔️ The aspen groves are definitely turning, with brilliant golds and soft yellows beginning to glow across the mountainsides 🟡✨. That said, I’d say the real peak is likely still about a week away — so if you’re coming around the end of September or early October, you’re probably in for an absolute spectacle! 👀💛 The second photo was taken the same day from Smuggler Mountain Road 🥾📸. From there, you get a gorgeous panoramic view of Aspen nestled among the hills. While you can already see touches of gold here and there, the valley is still mostly green — so there’s plenty of beauty yet to unfold 🌿→🍂. A few tips if you’re visiting soon: 🚗 Book shuttle tickets or parking in advance – Maroon Bells access is limited during peak season! 🌅 Mornings are magical – soft light, calm lakes, and fewer crowds. 🧥 Dress in layers – it’s chilly early but warms up quickly. 📍 Don’t skip Smuggler – even if the color isn’t full yet, the view over town is so worth it.
