Autumn Visit to Washington D.C. | Georgetown University 🍂🎓

No matter which city I travel to, I always love visiting universities—there’s something special about the free, vibrant atmosphere on campus. So when I came to Washington D.C., I knew I had to check out Georgetown University, a school with over 200 years of history! 🇺🇸 As soon as I stepped onto campus, I was greeted by a grand European-style building—a towering church and stately architecture that looked like a parliament building straight out of Europe! 🏛️ I later looked it up: this is Healy Hall, the iconic landmark of Georgetown University. Founded in 1789 by the Catholic Church, Georgetown is one of the oldest universities in the United States. The campus isn’t huge, but it’s full of character—historic halls stand alongside modern buildings like the business school and medical school. There’s even an old cemetery right next to a lively sports field! ⚰️🏟️ And just steps away from the dorms, you can walk into a peaceful chapel. It’s a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. ✨ A 10-minute walk from campus brings you to Georgetown neighborhood. The main street is packed with boutiques and crowds, especially during the holidays—it gets really lively! 🛍️👣 But if you walk just five minutes toward the Potomac River, everything suddenly becomes calm and serene. 🌊 Thanks to its location in the nation’s capital, Georgetown University has produced many influential figures in public service and politics. Probably the most famous alum is former President Bill Clinton! 👑 Donald Trump’s three children and President Joe Biden’s son also studied here.
